Vice President

“A company is like a living thing, an organism, so you want to nurture the culture, and make it a fun and enriching place where staff can thrive and achieve their professional goals. The dynamics of successfully teaching and coaching a team to be excellent at what they do is both fascinating and personally rewarding."

Mike is one of the founding partners of Rincon, and oversees the finances, and much of the long-range planning of the company. He is known for his keen understanding of client business realities, as well as his warm demeanor and coaching skills toward staff. Mike is an innovator, and has promoted the establishment of Rincon’s Advisory Board, which is charged with developing and testing strategic planning initiatives for the company, as well as Rincon University Rincon’s in-house training program. In addition to his company leadership roles Mike is the business manager for Rincon’s Biological Resources group and a Project Director for Environmental Science and Planning Projects. He brings an interdisciplinary approach to his work which reflects his 25 years of experience with California environmental law. His technical experience helps facilitate the discussion of complex technical issues such as those of Rincon’s Environmental Site Assessment and Remediation practice to both clients and greater stakeholder community. Being in the public eye is nothing new for Mike as he is very experienced with directing large scale public participation programs for projects that were used to balance environmental, community, political, and economic issues.
